With lightweight iPods® and a detailed map, this Discovery Walks program offers an easy self-guided walking tour of the historic sights of ancient Ephesus, one of the world's best examples of ancient Greek and Roman restorations. Your
i-Pod® allows you to listen to all the facts and descriptions of this ancient city and its historic sites while walking through the streets at your own pace. And since there are no schedules to keep, you're free to rest or enjoy a particular spot whenever you want. Simply consult the customized map to find each location and then go to the indicated number on the player for a detailed description of the site and its history.
The Discovery Player is yours alone, so you can go as fast or as slow as you'd like. Follow the suggested Discovery Walks route or set out on your own adventure, moving about the area with ease by simply following the detailed map and audio directions.
With all of the city's most important points of interest programmed into the player, your exploration of more than 2,000 years of history in Ephesus is limited only by your personal wishes. From the restored columns of the Fountain of Trajan and the Temple of Hadrian to the grandeur of Celsus Library and the unique historical elements of the brothel and the public latrines, your Discovery Walks stroll through the timeless soul of ancient Ephesus will be the highlight of your visit to this wonderfully historic city.
Please note: The cost of the tour includes transportation to and from the ruins of Ephesus with an on board guide/escort but does not include the fee required to enter the area itself. Lunch is on your own and is not included. Guests will need to complete a Program Equipment Receipt and present a photo ID (such as a driver's license) when picking up their Discovery Player. Additionally, any iPod(s) not returned in good working order will be assessed a Lost/Damaged item fee to the guest's onboard account in the amount of $200.00 per iPod. Ideally participants will be familiar with i-Pod technology prior to booking this tour, but a brief explanation of the equipment will be provided at the time of its delivery.
