The views change dramatically from coastal to rural as you drive toward the charming town of St. Paul de Vence, which was founded in the 9th century. Along the way, you will have the chance to see first-hand the great beauty that is so much a part of this region of southern France.
Leaving from the pier, you will journey into the pastoral countryside as your route brings you to the cobbled streets of the medieval village of St. Paul de Vence. Your exploration of this 16th century walled village begins by entering through the main gate where you will commence a guided walking tour. You will soon be able to observe that this village, while typical of other fortified villages guarding the frontier, has managed to retain much of its medieval appearance and its ramparts remain remarkably intact to this day.
After your guided tour, you will have free time on your own to stroll through the narrow, cobblestone lanes, discovering the many wonderful boutiques and art galleries that can be found here. At the end of your time in St. Paul de Vence, you will rejoin your coach for the transfer back to Cannes.
Please note: There is approximately 90 minutes of walking on this tour, mainly over cobblestone streets. The walk from the coach park to the town is approximately 1/2 mile uphill. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and not considered suitable for those with mobility concerns. Flat, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are suggested. There are two public restrooms in St. Paul de Vence.
