Here's the perfect opportunity to relax and discover the scenic region of quaint villages that are found inland from Cannes, all from the comfort of an air-conditioned motor coach.
Starting off from the pier, you'll first travel to La Colle sur Loup, where a brief stop allows for photos of the charming medieval village of St. Paul de Vence. From here, you will next cross the spectacular Gorges du Loup canyon, passing several picturesque hillside villages along the way. This valley gorge that pierces through the mountains is considered one of Haute Provence's most beautiful natural sights.
A stop will be made at the picture-postcard village of Gourdon, which is perched upon a rock spur that soars over 1,600 feet above the Loup River. Traditional houses have been restored and converted into boutiques and workshops that offer up olive wood carvings, glassware, pottery, distilled lavender and honey. Bring along your camera as you'll want to be sure to capture photos of the magnificent panorama that encompasses the coast from the mouth of the Var to Cap Roux, and inland from the Estérel Massif to the Courmettes peak.
Your route back to the ship in Cannes takes you by way of Grasse, renowned for its perfume factories.
Please note: There is limited walking on this tour, mainly at the guest's discretion during the stop in Gourdon. However, the streets are mainly cobblestone and it is a slight uphill walk from the coach park to the town center. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have a companion to assist them. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability and may remain in the parking area at a nearby coffee shop. Flat, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are suggested. There are two public restrooms in Gourdon.
