On the southern edge of the Gulf of Naples lies the Island of Capri, often called the Island of Dreams. Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius found peace and beauty here, as have the many celebrities who have visited the island. When you see Capri's impressive cliffs and brightly colored villas, you will understand the island's universal appeal.
Your excursion commences by boarding a jetfoil at the pier in Sorrento for a scenic, 30-minute cruise on the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Naples. Upon arrival at Capri pier, Marina Grande, you will board a local mini-bus for a ride to the lovely town of Capri. Here, you will have approximately 2 1/2 hours to independently explore this delightful town on your own. Take time to visit Via Camerelle, the famous shopping street, or wander through the central square known as the Piazzetta before visiting one of the local cafés for a quick lunch of local favorites. When it's time to head back, you'll climb aboard the funicular which will transport you down to the pier where you will board the hydrofoil for your return to Sorrento.
Please note: While walking on this tour is mainly at the guests' discretion during free time, walking in Capri can be strenuous. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and not recommended for those with mobility concerns. Weather appropriate clothing,hats, sunglasses, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Capri is a very popular tourist destination and therefore visitors should be prepared for crowded streets, traffic delays and lines.
