Experience traditional wine-making in the heart of the beautiful Pénedes countryside of Catalonia.
Leaving by coach from the pier, you'll enjoy a scenic drive to the Cordorniu Cellars. Owned by one of Spain's oldest winemaking families, the Cordornius, the family began producing cava more than 500 years ago.
Upon arrival, you will tour the amazing underground cellars by train and also learn the art of making cava. This distinctive sparkling wine is created from selected grapes much in the same manner that French champagne is produced. The word "cava" derives from the Greek word for "cave" or "wine cellar."
During your visit, you'll be treated to a tasting of this light, fruity white wine. Afterwards, travel back to the pier in Barcelona.
Please note: This excursion is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Additionally, the tour may not be suitable for those who suffer from claustrophobia as visits will be made to cellars that are located 4 floors below ground level. There are steps within the cellars that may be slippery when wet. Weather appropriate clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
