With a minimum of 10 guests and a maximum capacity of just 16 guests, each tour benefits from a higher level of personal attention and the added flexibility and agility that come from traveling in a small group.

This outstanding tour begins with a lovely scenic drive to the dramatic white-washed enclave of Arcos de la Frontera. Situated on a rocky promontory with the River Guadalete winding at its feet, this charming village bears witness to its Arab past with its labyrinth of steep, narrow streets and exceptional architecture. Upon arrival, you'll embark on a walking tour of the town's historic center, where you will find a wealth of monuments and marvelous buildings. At the heart of this area is the Plaza del Cabildo which is surrounded by the Town Hall and impressive Ducal Castle - a Muslim fortress re-built in the 15th century. Before continuing on, you will be given a photo opportunity at one of the many outstanding viewpoints that offers splendid panoramic views of the valley below.
Making your way along small, narrow lanes, you'll no doubt be enchanted by the quaint cube-shaped white houses you'll come across that are beautifully adorned with pots of vibrant blooming flowers and colorful blue ceramic tiles. Nestled amongst these delightful homes you will discover the "Iglesia de San Pedro." This impressive fortress-like church with its neoclassic bell tower is perched in what would appear to be a perilous cliff-hanger of a position. Once inside this precariously poised 16th century church, you'll find an amazing gilded altarpiece which details the life of San Pedro as well as paintings that are attributed to Francisco de Zubaran, a celebrated Spanish artist known primarily for his religious paintings. Following your visit here, some free time will be allowed to further explore on your own before rejoining your guide.
Your final stop will be at the Parador de Arcos, an inviting hotel located in the old Casa del Corregidor. Within this relaxing environment of typical Andalusian white-washed walls, grilles and tiles, you'll be treated to some light refreshment before re-boarding your coach and traveling back to the pier in Cadiz.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 miles of extensive walking, at times over uneven or cobblestone surfaces. Coaches cannot circulate in Arcos, and will be left in a parking area. From here, the walking is a steep incline. The city is uphill and involves considerable uphill walking, though the views are quite worthwhile. Therefore, it is not recommended for wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Caps and comfortable walking shoes are suggested.
