Ibiza town is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe and is the largest and most beautiful town on the island. Have a close-up look at its most noteworthy sites on this walking tour that showcases both its history and charm.
A coach transfer from the pier brings you to the top of the city where you will have great views of Ibiza that include the port, Playa den Bossa and Ibiza's sister island, Formentera. From this marvelous vantage point, you are able to clearly see the contrast between the ancient and the modern life of the Island.
Reaching the Cathedral of Santa Maria, you will leave your coach behind and commence a guided walking tour. Built in the early 13th century, the Cathedral stands in the historic part of Ibiza and features a museum, chapels, a tall bell tower and a holy cross made from gold and silver that is over 600 years old.
From here, your tour continues through the Old Town, following winding paths and shiny cobblestone streets which have been polished by the many centuries of walkers that have traveled over them. Arriving at the bottom of the town, you will find the dramatic drawbridge entrance into D'alt Vila, which is known as Portal de Ses Taules and is a spectacular sight.
After your walking tour comes to an end, you will have approximately 1-hour of free time to further explore the town at your leisure. Browse the colorful shops or perhaps relax with a cool drink from one of the bars or cafés in this cosmopolitan area of Ibiza before it's time to re-join your coach for the transfer back to the pier.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 2-hours of moderate walking, plus any walking at the guests' discretion during free time. There are cobblestone and uneven surfaces to negotiate in the Old Town. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have a companion to assist them. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; a hat; sunglasses; sunscreen and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested.
