One of the most awe-inspiring roadways in the French Riviera, the Grand Corniche stretches along the coastline affording unparalleled views.
As you drive along this legendary thoroughfare, you'll pass by Vista Palace, stopping for a photo if time permits, and then continue through the village of La Turbie, which overlooks Monaco at an altitude of nearly 1,600 feet. Once on the Middle Corniche, you'll have an expansive view of the northern mountains, where Eze Village perches near the top. An excellent vantage point for taking pictures is a square at the foot of the mountains, where you'll stop for approximately a half hour. Back on the road, a litany of classic French villages comes into view, including Beaulieu, Cap Ferrat, Villefranche, Nice, and Cap d'Antibes. The scenery seems almost impossibly beautiful as you ease onto the Lower Corniche, take in even more picturesque villages, and return to Monte Carlo, perhaps the ultimate gem on this necklace of French jewels.
