A JOURNEY TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH
The wild beauty of South America is on brilliant display during this journey that makes its way to the southernmost cities in the world. From Buenos Aires, travel into the scenic Pampas of Argentina for an afternoon of traditional song, dance and horsemanship by local gauchos. Explore Tierra del Fuego National Park near Ushuaia on the Train to the End of the World, and visit the nesting grounds of the Magellanic penguins near Punta Arenas. The stunning beauty of Patagonia near Puerto Chacabuco unfolds before your eyes on an unforgettable kayaking trip along the rivers and lakes lined by lush virgin forests, while the decks of your ship offer incredible views as you cruise the Chilean Fjords and anchor amidst the majestic glaciers of Laguna San Rafael.
BRAZIL AND BEYOND
In 10 wonderful days, you will experience the very best of South America, from the broad expanse of Rio de Janeiro’s festive Copacabana Beach to the social and historical significance of Buenos Aires’ Evita Museum. This voyage gives special attention to passionate, vivacious Brazil, beginning with the countless beaches of Buzios and Ilha Grande. In Parati, enthusiastic guides will take you through the Serra da Bocaina National Park to view the cascading waterfalls and luxuriant green landscape, and then it’s on to the cosmopolitan delights of bustling São Paulo. In Uruguay, you can contrast the scenic coastline of Punta del Este with the fascinating museums and historic plazas of Montevideo, celebrating all that makes South America so vibrant.
NATURE’S GLORIOUS HIGH NOTES
You will be singing the praises of South America on this epic adventure that takes you from the cloud-kissed Andes to two days of sailing through the raw beauty of the splendid Chilean Fjords. Humans have inhabited this glorious landscape for centuries, as revealed in Arequipa’s famed frozen mummy, a 550-year-old Inca maiden who was the victim of a ritualistic sacrifice, and Coquimbo’s amazing petroglyphs depicting masks, tiaras and sun symbols. In Ushuaia, the striking scenery of Tierra del Fuego National Park will make you feel as if you’re on another planet, while Port Stanley is firmly rooted in this world, with charming local penguins providing a stark contrast to the city’s war monuments and memorials. With so much to see, each day promises new treasures.
VENTURE WHERE FEW HAVE TRAVELED
On this intriguing voyage that ventures into the heart of the Amazon, you will experience a world that few ever get to see. This remote environment is home to enormous pink dolphins, the rare jaguar and hundreds of species of butterflies. Among the 1,500 identified species of fish is one of the largest freshwater fish in the world, the pirarucu, which grows up to eight feet long. Just as impressive are the towns and cities that people have established amidst the wilderness, with impressive architecture such as the Teatro Amazonas, the famous opera house of Manaus. With three full weeks to explore, this wonderful journey also allows time to visit some of the most beautiful islands of the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
SOUTH AMERICAN ODYSSEY
From the Lost City of the Incas situated high in the Andes Mountains in Peru to El Zanjon, the underground labyrinth of tunnels that once made up the old city of Buenos Aires, this epic journey explores the untamed beauty and diverse culture of South America’s most intriguing destinations. One of archaeology’s greatest enigmas, the Nazca Lines near Pisco are best seen from the air, while the Chilean Fjords are a majestic spectacle of Mother Nature. Travel to the end of the world on the Tierra del Fuego Southern Railway near Ushuaia and visit a 22,000-acre sheep farm near Port Stanley.
