DAY ONE - Rio de Janeiro

You will be met at the Rio's International airport and transferred to Sofitel Rio Hotel or similar for check in and overnight stay.

The rest of the day and evening are at your leisure, no meals are included this day.

DAY TWO - Rio de Janeiro

Brazilian Breakfast at hotel

8:30am - You will be met at the hotel lobby and transferred to the Rio Airport for your 2-hour flight to Iguazú. Snacks and refreshments will be served en route.

Upon arrival at Foz do Iguaçu Airport, you will be met by your local guide and then transferred to Brazil's Falls National Park for lunch at Porto Canoas Restaurant. Next, you will check-in at the Das Cataratas Hotel, located right on the falls.

After check in, your guide will meet you in the lobby and take you on a 1.5-hour introductory walking tour through the enchanted park at Iguazú Falls. Along the way, your guide will explain all about the trees, birds, falls and more.

Next, you will proceed to Macuco Falls for a jungle riverboat ride. This excursion combines a jeep tour through the National Park with a motorized boat cruise that allows you to view the falls from water level, and get close enough to them to feel the spray and energy created by this great mass of falling water. Note you will get wet on this portion of the tour.

Following this scenic adventure, you will be transferred back to your hotel for a buffet dinner. Overnight at the Das Cataratas Hotel - Iguazú.

DAY THREE - Iguazu / Rio

After a Brazilian-styled breakfast at the hotel, you will checkout and depart for the 1-hour drive to the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls. Along the way, a stop will be made to clear customs. Upon arrival, you will begin your approx. 3.5-hour tour. While walking along catwalks that penetrate deeper inside the falls than on the Brazilian side, you will hear the thunder of the rushing water and feel the spray from the falls. On your return to the Brazilian side of Iguazú Falls, a stop will be made for lunch at the La Selva restaurant.

After lunch, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to back to Rio. Snacks and refreshments will be served on the plane. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the pier for your check in onboard the ship.

Discovered in 1541 by Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca, Iguaçu Falls is considered to be the most extraordinary geological display in South America. Iguaçu means "great waters," as the crescent of falls spans a spectacular two and a half miles. Straddling the border between Argentina and Brazil, the falls are fed by the Rio Iguaçu. The waters travel 750 miles to the falls where they comprise 250 magnificent cascades that plunge some 260 feet into the forest below. A mystifying spectacle of rainbows graces the mist as an awe-inspiring crescendo. Inhabited by over 400 different varieties of birds, marks one of the most beautiful landscapes of the world, Iguazú Falls.

DAY ONE - Rio/ Iguazú

Upon disembarking the ship, you will be met and transferred to the Rio Airport for your approximately 2-hour flight to Iguazú. Snacks and refreshments will be served en route.

Experience the extraordinary natural beauty and wildlife of South America during this memorable journey to Iguazú Falls ~ one of the great natural wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Iguazú River Delta is located in the center of a sub-tropical forest spanning 457,000 acres, and possesses unique characteristics that have made it an important economic and ecological reserve for its neighboring countries. On this pre cruise adventure you will visit the northeastern section of Argentina - an area that is inhabited by over 400 different varieties of birds and marks one of the most beautiful landscapes of the world.

80m high and 3km wide, the Iguazú Falls span the border between Argentina and Brazil and is made up of many cascades that generate vast sprays of water producing one of the most spectacular waterfalls known to mankind.

DAY 1

Arrival of your to Rio De Janeiro's International Airport.

You will be met according to your flight details and transferred to your hotel.

The day and evening are at your leisure.

Check in time is 3:00pm. Although every effort will be made to have the rooms available earlier, this cannot be guaranteed. If you are arriving early you may wish to book an extra night to guarantee immediate check-in.

Day 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Rio De Janeiro Airport for your 2 hour flight to Iguazú. Snacks and refreshments will be served en route.

*We recommend you pack one light overnight bag per person. Allowance: one checked bag per person maximum 15 kg/33lbs and one carry on per person maximum 5kg/11lbs. Any excess luggage will be stored at the hotel in Rio de Janeiro where you will receive it upon your return.

Upon arrival, you will be met by your local guide and then transferred to Brazil's Falls National Park where lunch will be served at Porto Canoas Restaurant.

Following lunch you will check in at the Das Cataratas Hotel located next to the Falls.

In the afternoon you will meet your guide in the lobby and you will head out on a one and a half hour introductory walking tour through the enchanted park at Iguazú Falls. Along the way, your guide will explain all about the trees, birds, the falls and more. Next, embark on a motorized jungle riverboat (zodiacs) for a ride which combined with a jeep tour through the National Park, allows you to view the falls from water level and get close enough to feel the spray and energy created by this great mass of falling water. Please note that you will get wet on the zodiacs. Note: There are approximately 8 steps down / up to reach the boats with no ramps. The zodiac tour is optional and any guests wishing to remain ashore can do so. There are shaded areas and benches to sit on throughout the park.

The name Iguazú means Great Waters in Guarani. This natural wonder is taller and twice as wide than Niagara Falls and combines 275 falls in a massive, magnificent cascade stretching for nearly 1.7 miles. Situated on the border between Argentina and Brazil, its waters pass over lush, sub-tropical greenery. One of the most breathtaking sights you may see during your tour is the fluttering of more than 700 species of butterflies that make this area their home.

After the boat tour, head back to your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax before dinner.

DAY 3

After breakfast at the hotel, check out & transfer by bus to the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls. Along the way a stop will be made to clear customs. Upon arrival you will start a three and a half hour moderate walking tour along catwalks that penetrate deeper inside the Falls than on the Brazilian side. You will definitely hear the thunder of the rushing water and feel the spray of the Falls. On your return to the Brazilian side, a stop will be made for lunch at the El Fortin Restaurant.

After lunch you will be transferred to the airport for the return flight to Rio de Janeiro. Snacks and refreshments will be served on the plane. Upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro, you will be met and transferred back to the Windsor Atlantica Hotel for your overnight stay.

Dinner and the remainder of the evening are at your leisure.

DAY 4

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Check out is at 12:00nn and then you will be transferred to the port where you will embark the ship.

Expected Weather:

Seasons in South America are exactly opposite of those in North America. Rain can fall at any time of the year. A hot and humid climate should be expected during the summer (December-March)

What to Bring: Light, loose clothing, comfortable, rubber-soled shoes and a light rain jacket as well as insect repellant are recommended. Guests can also wear a swimsuit for the zodiac boat ride if they wish but must be worn under your clothes as there are no changing facilities.

Note: The pathways can be uneven in places and there are approximately 8 steps up / down to access the zodiac boat. You are very likely to get wet from the spray of the falls.
