Internet Center
Travel to the most remote, exotic lands and never be out of touch. Our Internet center is open around the clock so you can stay connected with loved ones through email, check the latest business news and stock prices, or research your next port of call. If you're a computer novice, our computer staff will gladly provide private lessons. Or join our group classes in subjects ranging from beginner's level Microsoft Windows XP to image retouching with Adobo Photoshop Elements, and a variety of digital photography classes.
Onboard Classes
Learn how to download your digital images, organize them into folders, create a photo CD, learn to operate a computer with Microsoft® Windows® XP, learn the basics of Outlook to send and receive email and much more. The Oceania@Sea Staff is ready to teach you a variety of courses while at sea. You can participate in our group classes or arrange for a private tutorial in the lab or in your stateroom. Our staffed Internet center is the answer to all your technology and photo needs.
Lectures are presented occasionally throughout the cruise in the Lounge. Watch Oceania Currents for the dates and times. Topics may include the Internet and World Wide Web, surfing the World Wide Web, and interesting Things You Can Do with a PC.
All classes are conducted in small groups and are presented throughout the cruise in the Oceania@Sea Room.
Introduction to Windows/Emails
This class teaches how to operate a computer with Microsoft Windows XP, work with a mouse and learn the basics of using Outlook to send and receive email.
Microsoft Word I
This class teaches how to create documents using the Microsoft Office program, Word, adding a picture to the document, create WordArt and how to use Spelling and Grammar checking.
Microsoft Excel I & II
TMicrosoft Excel I teaches the basic concepts of spreadsheets while creating a spreadsheet using the Microsoft Office program, Excel. Microsoft Excel II orients you to using the common features of Excel in a real world application.
Adobe Photoshop Elements I
This class teaches how to remove an unwanted object from an image, repair a very dark image and morph one person’s face onto another person’s body using layers.
Adobe Photoshop Elements II
This class teaches how to lighten part of an image, create a vignette and how to rotate part of an image using layers.
Adobe Photoshop Elements III
This class teaches how to selectively lighten part of an image, create a vignette, straighten the horizon in an image and rotate part of an image using layers.
Adobe Photoshop Elements IV
Learn how to create a feathered vignette, apply a sepia tone to an image, apply digital makeup, whiten teeth and brighten eyes.
Digital Image Download
This class teaches how to download your digital images from your camera, select the best pictures and discard the poor ones, assign them meaningful names and file them in folders. These techniques prepare your images for the CDROM you will create at the end of the cruise.
