Discover the intriguing history and modern development of two of the famed emirates by touring the wonders of

Dubai and the cultural landmarks of Sharjah.

Day 1

Arrive via international flights to Dubai and transfer to your hotel, the Taj Dubai or similar hotel.

Meals are on your own today.

Check in time is at 3:00pm. Although every effort will be made to have the rooms available sooner, this cannot be guaranteed. Should your flight arrive very early in the morning you may wish to book an additional night.

Day 2

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting out for Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates and named after a breed of gazelles by a Sheikh of the Bani Yas tribe. This magnificent city was founded in 1761 and is situated on a small peninsula surrounded by a cluster of islands.

Your first stop is the magnificent Grand Mosque of Abu Dhabi. The majestic Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque is probably the most imposing religious and national landmark in Abu Dhabi to date. It is also arguably one of the most important architectural treasures of contemporary UAE society - and one of the most beautiful in the world - initiated no less by the late president HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who is fondly thought of as the father of UAE.

Continue your tour driving along the spectacular Corniche and Palace area and around the city of Abu Dhabi, popularly referred to as “Manhattan of the Gulf” because of the profusion of the ultra-modern glazed skyscrapers, gleaming white mosques and elegant high-rise apartments.

Next proceed to Heritage Village which houses a small museum and depicts the daily activities of the Arab community prior to the discovery of oil. You will drive to the tip of the breakwater for a superb view of the city’s magnificent skyline before continuing on to the Emirates Palace, the most prestigious hotel in the Emirates. Near the entrance you will have a photo stop and have the chance to admire this architectural wonder - an international landmark boasting a staggering 114 domes all covered in mosaic glass tiles.

Lunch will be served at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers hotel at the Rosewater restaurant or similar venue.

After lunch, you will drive to Louvre Abu Dhabi and visit the Louvre. Virtually surrounded by the sea, the dozens of buildings that comprise the museum are linked by waterfront promenades and by the museum’s most arresting feature, its dome. The huge, 180-metre-wide dome is comprised of eight layers and appears to float above the museum complex. As sunlight filters through the dome’s perforations, it creates a ‘rain of light’ effect in the museum galleries below. The museum collection includes a number of significant works.

Later in the day you will depart from Louvre and drive to back to your hotel in Dubai, passing through Yas Island. The rest of the day and evening are at your leisure with dinner on your own.

**Note: The Grand Mosque will no longer provide ladies a headscarf or abaya free of charge and there is no shop on sight to buy them. Ladies please come prepared with something to cover you head or entrance will unfortunately be denied. For men and women: no transparent clothing, no shorts or skirts, no sleeveless shirts, no clothing with profanity and no tight clothing (including leggings) or beachwear.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and the morning at your leisure.

In the afternoon you will depart for an adventurous dune dinner safari. Experience the sheer thrill of driving up

and down golden yellow sand dunes in comfortable 4 wheel drive vehicles. Drive past the Bedouin villages and

stop at a camel camp to discuss the “news” of the day!

You will then enjoy some thrilling dune bashing with the experienced drivers over golden sand dunes.

Close to sunset the group arrives at the sunset point where "time stands still". Experience the silence of the

desert and watch the stunning vista of endless dunes and the magical desert sunset.

After sunset you will continue your journey deep into the desert until you reach the soft light of a Bedouin Village

- beautifully lit and decorated with rustic carpets and low tables with soft Arabic music in the background –

complete with camels and their keepers. Despite the rustic appeal, the campsite does have modern restroom

facilities and basins with running water.

Following this fun filled Dune Drive, you will head back to your hotel.

Later in the evening, relax on a cruise in our Dhow along the banks of the Dubai Water Canal, offering stunning views. Enjoy an international buffet dinner as you soak up the city’s bustling atmosphere with a view of the astonishing IMAGINE Fountain show, historic dhow building yards, native Ras al Khor bird sanctuary, contemporary Dubai Design District, the Centre of now - Downtown Dubai, World’s tallest tower - Burj Khalifa, central business district – Business Bay, a stellar destination - Al Habtoor City, one of the tallest hotel JW Marriott Marquis and finally the strikingly lit Dubai Water Canal Bridge, offering a once in a lifetime experience of gliding under it. At the end of the cruise, you will return to your hotel.

Day 4

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to the Emirate of Sharjah which you will reach through a panoramic drive passing through some of the Emirate’s landmarks, such as the King Faisal Mosque, the Pearl Monument symbol of the country, the Blue Souk and the Ruler’s area. Worthy to know is that, in 1998, Sharjah won the UNESCO award of being the Cultural capital of the Arab world. The Emirate really takes great pride with its commitment to art and preserving the local heritage and hosts very interesting museums, such as the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization.

The visit of this museum will allow you to deepen your knowledge the country’s official religion, Islam, and to understand how the Arab civilization developed throughout the centuries. Of particular interest is also the building in which the Museum is located. Once hosting the Souk Al Majarrah, it is characterized by an impressive architecture and traditional, Arab-Islamic design elements in its ground-plan and décor. It’s most outstanding feature is its majestic, gilt central dome, decorated on the inside with an intricate mosaic depicting the night sky and the signs of the zodiac.

Next walk to the nearby Souk Al Arsa, the oldest souk in the UAE. Arsa is a local Arabic word meaning ‘the area where goods is being sold in a traditional open space way' and it correctly defines this souk. Here you can find displayed various traditional items and goods, such as copper, silver and wood items, traditional jewelry, pearls and garments. At the end of this cultural rich tour, proceed to Port Rashid Dubai to embark the ship.
