Step aboard an air-conditioned motor coach for a chance to experience the beauty of the nearby Arachon Bay's pine tree forests, calm ocean waters and wild dunes. Highlights of your outing include a climb up Europe's tallest sand dune and a taste of oysters served with wine.
After venturing through the Landes de Gascogne forest, you will arrive in Arcachon Bay, known for its pristine tidal waters that attract thousands of migratory birds each year. At Le Pyla, you will set off for your trek up Europe's highest sand dune. Wooden stairs allow for easier climbing of the first half of the dune's 360 feet. Upon reaching the top, you will take in the sweeping views of Arcachon Bay, the Landes pine forest and the sea.
From here, travel to a nearby oyster farm, where the owner will share insights into the business, and invite you to sample oysters served with rye bread and dry white wine. Then, having enjoyed a taste of Arcachon, you will return to your ship.
