Leaving the pier, your coach travels along the city's Riviera to Pile Square. Since the old city center is not accessible by motor coach, you will proceed from here by foot.
Walking down the main street of Dubrovnik, step back in time to the period when the city was an independent republic. Learn about local history as your guide points out city highlights, such as Franciscan's Monastery, the Dominican Monastery and Rector's Palace. At the store called the House of Dubrovnik, your guide will offer an interesting explanation of old city customs.
Your guided tour will end with a visit to the "Atelier Romana," home of one of the most distinguished contemporary artists of Dubrovnik, Romana Milutin Fabris. Enjoy her brilliantly colorful paintings of the local scenery while sipping a traditional Croatian welcome drink.
Following your visit, enjoy some time to further explore the ancient streets on your own. Then, it will be time to re-board your coach and journey to the village of Mihanici, viewing the hamlets of the Konavle Valley en route. Arriving in Mihanici, you will appreciate its genuine village atmosphere. For a memorable look into what makes Mihanici and the region special, visit the home of painter Mijo Sisa Konavljanin, a self-taught artist who was born in Konavle.
Meet the talented artist and be treated to a glimpse of his gallery. Then, sip a glass of homemade brandy before savoring a lunch of traditional specialties at the Sapro country estate.
Having enjoyed a real taste of Croatia, you'll return to Dubrovnik and your awaiting ship.
