Essential Oil Steam | Create your own aromatic steam room at home with a warm shower and essential oil. Just put 10 to 12 drops of essential oil on a cloth and place it on the shower floor. You’ll reap aromatherapy relaxation benefits as you shower.
Scrubs | Body scrubs are a great way to stimulate circulation. Prime your face or body with a cleanse after your steam to wash away impurities — salt, minerals and oils — that create barriers to your skin. Gentle scrubs can also repair, firm, soften, soothe and protect winter skin that’s tired or dry since your skin will be better able to absorb moisturizers and treatments afterward.
At-Home Spa Treatments | Whether you choose to do a favorite facial, a spa pedicure or plan to enlist a friend or loved one for a stress-relieving massage, here are some easy at home ideas: a face mask, a sheet mask or an eye mask; a hair mask or scalp treatment, a manicure, a pedicure or a foot soak.
Meditation | Try meditating for as few as five minutes and you’ll benefit from increased relaxation and reduced stress. If meditation isn’t for you, try going for a short outdoor walk and take several slow, deep breaths. You can also try listening to your favorite relaxing music or spend a few moments considering a few people or things you are grateful for.
Stretch + Exercise | As beneficial for your body as your mental health, a quick and simple workout is often just what’s needed to press the re-set button. Try at-home yoga, a walk in a local park or even a few minutes of stretching in a quiet corner of your home. Schedule this time and utilize it as a mental break from your day-to-day routines.
Get Organized | Nothing clears the mind and enhances focus like open spaces and surfaces free of clutter. In the coming weeks, set aside some time to get organized. Take on that catch-all kitchen drawer, crowded spare closet or a corner of your garage that you’ve been meaning to organize.
